What do beach towels and batiks have to do with modern quilting? We’re always on the lookout for trends, and we’ve noticed an increasing number of batiks appearing in many modern quilts. It’s no wonder, really. Batiks are beautiful, blend wonderfully with many modern prints, and offer a hand-touched texture that can’t be beat. And while it’s true that many batiks are made in island nations with beautiful beaches, it’s also true that after a long dreary winter, we’re simply looking forward to sitting in the sun.
